Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden title for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a former world number one, has had a difficult period, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the American major.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in specific - caused him falling of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with former coach Cervara.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's initial trophy after the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt since March of 2023.

Victory also indicates he has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 distinct events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is really nice," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his past six finals, including in Halle in the past months.

The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent reactions on the tennis court had led some to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

He came back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the final five points to take the lead.

The competitors traded service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, took control to push for a decider.

The opponent saved 4 early break points in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev secured victory with a rally at the net, with his opponent incapable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
