Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.
A number of civilians were wounded while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to water systems, per reports from city officials.
At the same time, a young boy was lost their life in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from regional authorities.
Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.
"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a online statement.
Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.
The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.
A series of attacks hit power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.
Multiple people injured in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from municipal representatives.
Local officials said the metropolitan region endured intense attacks throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and three other people were hurt.
The assaults come after evenings of aerial attacks in the area, portions of which remain under the control of invading troops.
All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to spot.
Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting energy systems.
Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
